THE MEANING
The owl tetradrachm was the Mediterranean's reserve coin for centuries: accepted from Egypt to Sicily, it funded the fleet that defended Greek freedom.
Athena's owl — the glaux — gazes straight at the wearer. It is the very symbol that today presides over our house.
